What Happens In Vegas...

...will live on my blog forever. It's time for another Green family vacation which is odd since we just had one a couple of years ago and we usually average about one every decade.

This time we are driving from Houston to Tucson, AZ to visit with Jayson's family for a couple of days then we're all driving to Las Vegas for a couple more days before heading home. Jayson's parents are providing rooms for everyone at The Cosmopolitan in celebration of their 50th anniversary which is coming up next month. Our 25th anniversary is just 3 days after their 50th so we're pretending that this is our 25th anniversary celebration that we don't have to pay for. SCORE!!

I'm not taking my computer with me this time so I won't be blogging as I go like I did on our trip to Arkansas. However, I am taking a travel journal so I can make notes about all our activities and the weirdness we run into...because we always do. Then when we get home I can blog about the trip. Actually what will happen is that when we get home I will not be able to make any sense out of the notes I took and will have almost no memory of the trip in general. Thank you for that, narcolepsy.

We don't have any solid plans for the trip, just a list of possibilities to choose from. There are a couple of museums that I'd like to see in Tucson if we have time but I won't be heartbroken if we miss them since the important part is spending time with Jayson's family.

I have a good list of fun and cheesy stuff to do in Las Vegas to keep me away from the roulette tables that I love so much. We will check out the half price ticket place while we're there but we're not buying any show tickets ahead of time. The most popular shows would cost around $400 for the 3 of us and that's just crazy. I know they're great but that's an awful lot of money just for a couple of hours of entertainment...specially considering we can get a tremendous amount of joy out of something as simple as a salad bar.

Today's to-do list a mile long since, naturally, I put everything off until the last possible minute. I may not get it done early but by gosh I get it done. Jayson mentioned something about leaving tomorrow at 6 a.m. but I don't really know what that means. I know it doesn't have anything to do with the time of day because that doesn't start until 8. Must be some kind of crazy code word.

I'd better get started on my busy day since I have errands to run, pants to hem, clothes to pack and naps to not take.
