I stumbled across something hilarious today and must share. This little jewel certainly isn't for everyone so don't come crying to me if you visit the blog and damage your delicate sensibilities. I would probably consider it NSFW even though it's just words and no visuals but still. If you don't know what NSFW means, that should be your cue to just walk away. I'll post something crafty and family-friendly soon.
I don't even know how I ran across this blog. You know how it works. You start out looking for low-fat appetizer recipes and you end up watching videos of hip replacement surgeries. It's the magic of the internet. Anyway, the writer of this blog gives a chapter-by-chapter commentary of the best selling mommy porn novel and soon to be movie 50 Shades of Grey. I guess commentary isn't the right word. It's a 'deconstruction' of the novel.
I have to admit that I've never read the book, I don't intend to ever read the book, and will most likely never see the movie. But I have read enough excerpts and commentaries to know that the book isn't particularly well written and probably deserves whatever deconstructing it gets.
I'm actually sort of conservative, I'm not into erotica, porn (literary or any other kind either) or anything in the BDSM genre. In fact, I had to Google BDSM to find out what it meant and I really wish I hadn't done that.
I am, however, really into satire. I love satire that is done well and in my book that means it's done in a good-natured way. I like happy sarcasm...not biting sarcasm. There is a difference.
So I stumbled across this blog called Something Short and Snappy. I know absolutely nothing about the author except that she makes me laugh out loud for a really long time. People who know me well know that's something I don't do very often at all. I find pretty much everything funny and chuckle all the time but a full-on belly laugh is rare. I've read maybe a half dozen of this girl's blog posts and from her style of writing I'm thinking she's quite a bit younger than I am, she's definitely not as reserved as I am, she's got a shocking potty mouth and I think I love her. She seems to be one of those people who is the polar opposite of me and I'm just sure we could be best friends.
If you enjoy satire and are not offended by the subject matter in 50 Shades of Grey and also would not be offended by some very graphic (although hilarious) commentary about it, then you must go check it out. I seriously nearly peed my pants laughing over some of the things she said about chapters 8, 9 and I think it was 13. I need to start over and read them all in order.
The blogger also deconstructs 50 Shades Darker but I haven't gotten that far yet. When you visit her blog, go to her posts from about May or June 2012 to see where the commentaries begin. I'm having so much fun reading her stuff that I'm tempted to do something similar myself. There's enough poorly written best selling literature out there to keep plenty of bloggers busy for a long time. I'll just have to find something that's better suited for me. Any suggestions?? (Don't say Twilight.)

Twilight.
I had to. You were just begging me to do it.
Anywho, I can't seem to locate in my memory any books worth writing about in a blog. I know what books I like, but when broken down and dissected I don't think it'd be much fun. So sorry to disappoint.
Please do not be offended by my joke, it was just too tempting and I'm surprised I'm the first one who has said it
